Seems to be on a need to know basis, many just let their kids attend and say nothing to anyone, just make sure no pics turn up on fb.

My Mom is in the hospital

Dear Jeff,
Hope your mum makes a speedy recovery....make sure she gets really good food while she is in there, it really does make a difference to her recovery.
Hope you cope, I know how stressing it is to take care of someone in hospital over a long period of time.

I'm not trying to brag, but being an EXJW is awesome!!! Status Update-
by Coffee House Girl inhello jwn!
i don't get to check in here or comment as often as i would like because i have been working so hard at school...but i just have to share my news in hopes that newbees can see that taking the leap to enroll in higher education is worth it-.
i am graduating this spring with a bachelor degree in art history, minor anthropology...many people (including nonjw's have given me flack for choosing a "dead end" career path) but since leaving the watchtower organization's group-think mentality and "leaning on my own understanding" instead... i decided to say fuck everyone else's opinion...i am going to pursue my passion to work in a museum as a curator or archivist-.

I did it !!!!
by snare&racket in7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.
i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.
i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

So happy to hear that you are both doing so well, life is good and meant to be lived going forwards not looking back. You sound like you have found the right balance. Love the description of your activities, I am a keen gardener....hippy style if I could call it anything. I love my early spring flowers and here in Scandinavia we have had a mild winter and they are all up and like a lovely carpet of gold around the apple trees, the snowdrops are looking lovely too.
Your winter sounds tough...we used to have them like that but this year has been an exception. All the best to you and your wife.

JW's Parked in front of House doing Returns, Not so good Feelings.
by Shanagirl inugh, i saw them this morning, 4 of them piling out of the car in front of my house and going to a few "not at homes" across the street.
it brought up a lot of uncomfortable feelings in me and especially seeing a former friend who's partially related to my husband's family thru marriage.
i saw her out the window staring at our home and it gave me the creeps.

I understand that feeling, I even get it when shopping if I see someone that may/may not shun me. It has upset me that I seem not able to control my feelings.
This last week I had a bit of a revelation, I practiced finding the centre point with mind body control, its a principle of most eastern practices, tai chi, yoga etc but it really worked for me. The session involved thinking of someone or something upsetting and allowing your partner to push you gently on your chest, it unbalances you. Then you are asked to concentrate on your area below the navel and say to yourself, remain centered. The partner then pushes again on your chest and it was amazing how the body actually stayed firm. This practise can really help in overcoming negative feelings.
When I told my 13 year old, he just laughed at me and said, oh that old thing, I use it all the time in my hapkido lessons ( we enrolled him as soon as we left the witnesses some years ago). I was so proud of him as he is the most balanced, calm and happy kid I know (even for a teenager!).
So I suggest you search for a video that teaches this technique and try it out...it does not have to be in a witness/fear situation it can work in any area.
One teacher of the technique is Angela Hicks, she does very good presentations.
Hope you get over your bad feelings
Regards

Husband at Haysbridge in 1985 he was full time pioneer at time, I went weekends, I was pregnant with our 2nd child, I got the job of kicking out the reinforced glass from the old iron window frames! Then I was in charge of the kids that came with their parents on a weekend. We sisters worked really hard and were often bossed around by useless brothers that couldn't be bothered to do any real work.

I think the iceages are a proof that we ain't seen nothing yet! The earth has a cyclus, continents are moving and clashing, nothing is unusual for this planet. We just measure everything in how it effects us humans that is all.

How can i continue my fade vs the rubber band theorem that pulls my wife in
by DS211 inim at a crossroads my friends.
im beginning to feel that my oppurtunities to get my wife out are waning.
weve misssed many meetings she still smokes a cig a day.

This may sound mean but maybe, just maybe it would shake her up. Why not let it slip that your wife smokes? Then they would be down on her like a ton of bricks. That just may be the last straw, when she experiences their lack of care and judgemental approach.
After saying that 8 weeks is no time at all, just explain that you are very disturbed emotionally and need space and being away from the meetings does not mean that you are a failure spiritually.
